Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma is the Official State Theatre of Oklahoma, founded in 1963 and based at 1727 NW 16th St in the Plaza District. The professional theatre company produces large-scale, fully orchestrated musicals each summer at the Civic Center Music Hall alongside works at the Plaza Theatre in spring, fall, and winter, and runs the Thelma Gaylord Academy, a professional training program for young performers ages 5–18. Lyric is one of the state's leading producers of classic and contemporary musical theatre. Box office at (405) 524-9312.
