Henry & Anna Overholser Mansion

The Henry & Anna Overholser Mansion is a historic house museum in Oklahoma City's Heritage Hills neighborhood. The Chateauesque mansion was built in 1903 for Henry Overholser and his wife Anna Ione Murphy Overholser; Henry Overholser arrived in Oklahoma City shortly after the Land Run of 1889 and became a prominent civic and business leader. The 11,700-square-foot home was designed by London-trained architect W. S. Matthews and is considered Oklahoma City's first mansion. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1970, acquired by the Oklahoma Historical Society in 1972, and has been managed by the nonprofit Preservation Oklahoma since 2003. In December 2020 the Oklahoma Historical Society Board of Directors voted to rename the site from the Henry Overholser Mansion to the Henry and Anna Overholser Mansion, recognizing Anna's role in the city's early history. Guided tours are given Wednesday through Saturday at 10 a.m., noon, and 2 p.m.; tickets must be purchased in advance.
