Bayou & Barrel

Bayou & Barrel is a Cajun and Creole restaurant at 9120 N MacArthur Blvd in northwest Oklahoma City. It opened June 12, 2026, after chefs Chris McKenna and Richard Ly (also of Kaizume and Awaji Izakaya) purchased and overhauled the former Taqueria El Camino space. McKenna, a 30-plus-year veteran of the OKC restaurant scene raised in Edmond, returned to his culinary roots to run one of the city's few locally owned Cajun restaurants. The menu centers on authentic Louisiana cooking: chicken and sausage gumbo, crawfish etouffee, blackened redfish, catfish Pontchartrain, crispy gator bites, hush puppy sticks, crawfish pies, voodoo fries, and the popular boudin sausage egg rolls. Dishes reflect McKenna's intent to blend Louisiana tradition with Oklahoma character. Dinner hours are Tuesday-Thursday 4:00-9:00 PM and Friday-Saturday 4:00-10:00 PM. A nightly 'social pour / Lagniappe hour' runs 4:00-6:00 PM with $3 beers, $4 shots, $7 glasses of wine, $2 off cocktails, and reduced-price appetizers. Phone (405) 506-0757.
