Wiley Post Park

Wiley Post Park is a 48-acre City of Oklahoma City park along the Oklahoma River, stretching between South Walker Avenue and South Robinson Avenue from roughly SW 15th to SW 20th Street. Named for Wiley Post, the famous Oklahoma pilot who circumnavigated the globe in 1931, it pairs open riverfront green space with playgrounds, trails, and event facilities. The park's north section reopened in June 2026 after an $8.1 million overhaul: two new playgrounds, a band shell, shaded swing loungers, solar lighting, new trees, shade structures, and additional parking, all with sweeping views of the river and the downtown skyline. The North Oklahoma River Trail runs through the park, and a memorial plaza honoring the USS Oklahoma City submarine is under development on the site. Day-to-day amenities include a popular playground, a splashpad, open fields, river trails, and an outdoor pavilion with its own sand volleyball court. The 5,000-square-foot Wiley Post Event Center (2021 S. Robinson Ave., capacity 150) hosts fundraisers, corporate events, and family reunions, and the park sits just across the street from the Mat Hoffman Action Sports Park.
